What is Hydro Jetting?

Reaper Nozzle cleaning pipe.

Hydro Jetting

Hydro jetting services represent an advanced method of drain cleaning for both residential and commercial needs. This technique utilizes high-pressure water delivered through specialized nozzles to effectively remove buildup inside pipes. Unlike conventional methods such as drain snaking, which mainly focuses on breaking through or retrieving obstructions, hydro jetting thoroughly cleans the walls of the pipe as the nozzle navigates through the line. Depending on the system's condition, hydro jetting can eliminate accumulated grease, sludge, roots, scale, sand, sediment, and other debris that hinder flow and lead to ongoing drain problems.

Two high-performance industrial nozzles: Reaper and Warthog.

State of the Art Nozzles

Reaper

The Reaper utilizes concentrated, high-pressure water jets to effectively cut through tough obstructions and accumulated material during commercial drain cleaning, while also assisting in propelling the nozzle through the line.

Warthog

The Warthog's controlled rotating water jet delivers powerful 360-degree cleaning action, making it ideal for removing buildup from the interior walls of larger drain and sewer lines. Different pipe conditions require different tools, which is why we select the appropriate nozzle and setup based on the pipe size, material, condition, and the type of obstruction or buildup we're addressing. Our hydro jetting services are tailored to meet these specific needs.

Hydro jetting removes various pipe blockages with high-pressure water.

What Does Hydro Jetting Remove?

GREASE & FOG Fats, oils, and grease are commonly found in restaurant and kitchen drain lines, often requiring professional commercial drain cleaning to address the buildup.

ROOTS Root intrusion can occur when roots enter sewer and drainage piping, hindering proper flow.

SLUDGE Organic material and accumulated waste coat the inside of pipes, necessitating effective drain cleaning methods.

SAND & SEDIMENT These materials are frequently found in stormwater and underground drainage systems and can be managed through hydro jetting services.

SCALE & BUILDUP Deposits that gradually reduce the usable diameter of a pipe can also be removed through specialized drain cleaning techniques.

DEBRIS Leaves, dirt, and other materials can restrict drainage systems, making regular maintenance essential for optimal performance.

Commercial-Grade Hydro Jetting Equipment

Not every hydro jetter is created equal. The Plumber Guys operates professional equipment designed to handle everything from residential drains to larger commercial and stormwater systems.

✓ 4,000 PSI / 20 GPM | ✓ 2"–30" Lines | ✓ 59 HP Yanmar Diesel Engine | ✓ Dual 330 Gallon Water Tanks

Our equipment allows us to select the appropriate pressure, flow, hose and nozzle configuration for the pipe and conditions we're cleaning.

See It. Clean It. Verify It.

When appropriate, we can perform a sewer camera inspection to evaluate the inside of the line before hydro jetting. This helps identify blockages, root intrusion, damaged piping, offsets and other conditions that may affect how the line should be cleaned.

After hydro jetting, the camera can also be used to evaluate the cleaned line and document its condition.

Residential Hydro Jetting Service Call

🏠 Residential Hydro Jetting in Action! 💦

This customer’s sewer system got the full treatment. We started with camera inspections of the main sewer lines underneath the home and from the house to the road to see exactly what was happening inside the pipes.

Then we brought in the hydro jetter and cleaned the entire main sewer line—using high-pressure water to remove debris and thoroughly clean the inside pipe walls, not just punch a hole through the buildup.

Hydro Jetting Main Sanitary Sewer Line and Kitchen Sink Line

🚿 Complete Drain System Service Done Right. 💪

✅ Hydro jetted the main sanitary sewer line to remove years of buildup and restore full flow.

✅ Hydro jetted a plugged kitchen sink drain to eliminate grease and debris.

✅ Performed a full sewer camera inspection to verify the main line was clean, flowing properly, and free of obstructions.

✅ Left the customer with a bottle of Total-C® Professional Drain Treatment to help break down grease, control odors, and keep their kitchen drain flowing between professional cleanings.

Hydro Jetting Channel Drains for Pool Enclosure

From clogged to flowing again. 💦  Today’s customer had plugged channel drains around their pool enclosure, so we brought out the hydro jetter to clear the lines. My wife came along to help film today’s content while we flushed out a heavy amount of dirt, leaves, and debris.  We continued hydro jetting until the water ran clear and the channel drain lines were flowing properly again.

AC Condensate Drain Line Plugged

💦 The clog wasn’t where we expected it to be!

This customer was experiencing water backing up and draining onto the floor underneath their kitchen sink. We ran water throughout the kitchen and bathrooms trying to recreate the problem, but everything was draining properly.

After some troubleshooting, we found the real culprit: a clogged A/C condensate drain line coming from the adjoining closet.

We brought out our 1/4-inch hydro jetting reel, thoroughly cleaned the condensate line, and restored proper flow. ✅

Sometimes good drain service is about more than clearing a clog—it’s about finding the actual source of the problem before performing the work.

Hydro Jetting Buried Corrugated Piping - Rainwater System

💧 Buried Downspout Not Draining? We Can Fix That. 💧

Keeping these systems clear helps reduce standing water, foundation issues, erosion, and flooding around your property.
